Academy – 1605 – KC-97G Flying Boom Tanker

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. Boeing KC-97 Stratofreighter U.S. aircraft tanker developed from C-97 Stratofreighter cargo variant in the late 40s.

Around 592 KC-97G were built, as dual purpose cargo and refueling aircrafts, this variant carried also under wing fuel tanks.

Academy released this kit in the year 2000, together with the C-97 Stratofreighter kit (Academy – 1604 – C-97A Stratofreighter), both kits are very similar identical, but this variants adds parts for flying boombits, the wing fuel tanks, fuselage is similar but with a different number of windows and the refueling blister replacing the C-97A cargo door in the lower fuselage. As happens with the C-97A kit, as per 2024 this kit has not been reissued.

Kit include decal sheet with two U.S. markings.
