Academy – 2156 – BOEING RB-50G Electronic Reconnaissance Superfortress

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. Boeing B-50 Superfortress strategic bomber, an upgrade/refinement of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress in an RB-50G variant, a further conversion of the RB-50B reconnaissance variant, fitted with nine cameras in four stations, weather instruments, and extra crew as well as extra external fuel tanks. The RB-50G was an specific electronic reconnaissance, fitted with six electronic stations and a 16-man crew. 15 units were converted to this standard.

Kit derived from Academy – 2112 – B-50D SUPERFORTRESS, with new parts and a new decal sheet including one marking. The kit was originally released 1996, four years after the B-50D kit and 3-4 years before the later C-97, KC-97 and B-377 kit. Any of them has been reissued again.
