US Navy F-14A Fighter Aircraft (Tomcat)

Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a twin-engine, twin tail, two seat supersonic fighter aircraft of the US Navy. It entered service on 22’nd September 1974 and remained active until 22’nd September 2006 in various front-line roles including maritime air superiority fighter, fleet defense interceptor, tactical aerial reconnaissance airplane and precision ground-attack aircraft. This kit contains decals that reproduce the markings of the FV-84 ‘Jolly Rogers’ and FV-111 ‘Sundowners’.

Kit include external fuel tanks but not weapons payload, need to be acquired separately. Specifically Fine Molds designed Fine Molds – FP31 – US Air-to-Air missile set for this purpose.

Update from 2023, the brand later released Fine Molds – FP44 – U.S. Air-to-Air Missile Set #2 (’60s~’70s) which can extended the range of weapons available for F-14A kits, in particular if looking for early 70’s configurations, as include older versions of AIM-7 and AIM-9 missiles.
