Zvezda is about to release a new Maus tank, Zvezda – 5073 – MAUS German Super Heavy Tank.


GMU releases their third model in 1/72 scale, GMU – 72003 – YAZ-200 TZ, a logical release since many of the parts are shared with their first release, the YaAZ 200 truck.

Trumpeter is working to release Trumpeter – 07181 – Russian T-14 Armata MBT, the Russian next-generation tank which still haven’t proved it value in combat.


Vespid Models is planning to extend the Panther family with a new release, Vespid – VS72011 – Panther F (Pz.Kpfw.V 75mm Kw.K L/70), and F variant which never was realized, confirming the taste of the Chinese brand for projects and what it’s often called Panzer 46, a world of “What if”s never realized.


Great news from Ukraine, few days before the start of the war, UMMT (Ukrainian Models Military Technics) announced a new full armoured train, UMMT – 695 – “Kozma Minin” 31st Separate Special Gorky-Warsaw Division of Armored Trains and finally seems it has reached both production and distribution being available already. Our best wishes for UMMT and UM friends.


Vespid announces another kit, one more based in their popular Panther kit, Vespid – VS72012 – Panther G 20mm Flakvierling auf Fahrgestell, and also another “what if” project. Designed by Rheinmetall the 20mm Flakvierling based on Panther tank never was even prototyped.


Dragon keeps updating their Bradley kits line with 3D printed parts and announce a new kit, Dragon – 7678 – M2A3 Bradley BUSK III, previous announced updates as the Dragon – 7610 – M2A3 Bradley w/Interior are still to come.


Galaxy Hobby adds one more Oshkosh M-ATV with the announce of Galaxy Hobby – GH72A06 – M1227 M-ATV CROWS w/M153 Remote-Controlled Weapons System w/XZL 16.00XR20 Wheel Set.

Special Armour is about to release later this month a new kit based on the Sd.Kfz.250 MK72 kit, basically a re-decal option Special Armour – SA72027 – Captured Sd.Kfz. 250 Ausf. A (Alte Ausführung)


Attack Kits is about to double release the Mk.IV variant of the Humber armoured car, after the brand already released Mk.II and Mk.III, completes the series with two boxes for the Mk.IV, which only differ in the decal sheet, Attack Kits – 72940 – HUMBER ARMOURED CAR MK.IV FOREIGN SERVICE – CZECHOSLOVAK AND POLISH UNITS and Attack Kits – 72935 – HUMBER ARMOURED CAR MK.IV BRITISH ARMY EUROPE. With these releases, Attack join the growing list of brands who enhance their kits with 3D Printed parts.


Great surprise news, Meng, a popular brand nowadays, in 1/35 scale, jumps into 1/72 scale (vehicles) for first time with the release of Meng – 72-001 – PLA ZTQ15 Light Tank.


Updated Trumpeter – 07155 – Soviet Object 268 with sprue’s images as well as Trumpeter – 07181 – Russian T-14 Armata MBT. Both featuring tracks in a single piece moulded with part of the wheel drive train, a characteristic which makes them easy to build type of kits.


Expected for next month, IBG has a huge batch coming with four new kits in the vehicle section, all of them are based on previous releases upgraded with new parts, and all of them are great additions to the greater IBG range every time they release a kit. The four kits coming are:

Eduard brings back one of their Spitfire variants, Eduard – 7460 – Spitfire F Mk. IX (Weekend Edition). It was several years that the brand did not released an Spitfire, so it’s a good addition. Also this month, Eduard is releasing a limited edition, deluxe, for the Avia S-199. Eduard has tooled the new parts and based the rest in their Messerschmitt Bf 109G moulds. Two full models and 12 markings to choose from in the coming Eduard – 2141 – MEZEK DUAL COMBO.

Today we have added to our family the Czech brand Plus Model, which is close to release two models for the Martin T4M, Plus Model – AL7072 – Martin T4M float version and Plus Model – AL7038 – Martin T4M wheel version. Both kit contains same parts, so whatever you pick up allows to build with or without float planes, but decals are specific of each release. In the future we’ll add previous kits from this brand.


Hobby Boss is releasing this month a new A-4 Skyhawk kit, Hobby Boss – 87256 – A-4M Skyhawk, the specific U.S. Marine Corps version.

Kovozávody Prostějov is about to smash the month one more time, with 15 new releases scheduled for this May month. We’ll be adding all of them today, but the first entry goes for a new Zlin Z-37 Čmelák release, Kovozávody Prostějov (KP) – KPM0332 – Let Z-137T Agro Turbo. In second place KP brings back their Siebel Si 204 moulds with two new releases, Kovozávody Prostějov (KP) – KPM0331 – Siebel Si 204D and Kovozávody Prostějov (KP) – KPM0330 – Aero C-3AF/D-44 “Síbl”. Together with KP in the past, Smer or Mistercraft also released this kit. And also back from the past, Kovozávody Prostějov (KP) – KPM0329 – MiG-19S “Silver Wings”.

Three more to the KP list, a trio of Breguet Bre-14s, Kovozávody Prostějov (KP) – KPM0320 – Breguet Bre-14A “International”, Kovozávody Prostějov (KP) – KPM0321 – Breguet Bre-14A and Kovozávody Prostějov (KP) – KPM0322 – Breguet Bre-14B.

AZ Model is getting more delayed in their releases, and seems they are bringing kits from the past, like the coming release AZ Model – AZ7819 – Bf 109K-4 “The Last Chance”, which is not stated as new tooled, so may be a re-issue of their past K-4 kit, which is welcome because the old one was largely gone and hard to find.

Italeri continues the announced road in their 2022 catalogue advance and this month releases Italeri – 1462 – Stirling Mk. III upgraded with new parts and including also PE parts.

ICM is very close to release a re-edition of their MiG-29 kit, devoted to Ukrainian Air Force, with markings updated to 2022 conflict. ICM – 72140 – THE GHOST OF KYIV MIG-29 of Ukrainian Air Force. I the second kit inspired by the myth of the “Ghost of Kiev” , after Mistercraft release Mistercraft – D-110 – MiG-29 (9-13) “Ghost of Kyiv” and IBG is also working in a release under the same title. a 50% of the funds earned by ICM with this kit, will be donated to Ukrainian army.


Added sprues images to Clear Prop – CP72021 – H-75O Hawk (Starter Kit) as well as to Clear Prop – CP72022 – H-75N Hawk (Starter Kit).

The Ukrainian brand, Clear Prop, is also aiming to release by the end of this month three new models devoted to the Polikarpov I-16, which saw some success till they have to face the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 of the Legion Condor during the Spanish Civil War, and even worse at the outbreak of the Soviet Union invasion in 1941 during the WWII. The three new kits are Clear Prop – CP72023 – I-16 Type 5 “in the sky of Spain”, Clear Prop – CP72024 – I-16 Type 5 early version and Clear Prop – CP72025 – I-16 Type 5 (1938-1941).

Airfix bring back Airfix – A01046V – FIAT G.50 this month from the past.

After some unusual longer silence period, Hobby 2000 is back with three interesting releases, one based in an Academy kit, Hobby 2000 – 72061 – Messerschmitt Me 163 B/S Komet, in direct competence with the Wolfpack Design – WP17209 – Me163B/S ‘Komet’ (Premium Edition Kit) which uses same Academy kit, and two repacks based on a Hasegawa kit, both for the Swedish Saab 35 Draken, Hobby 2000 – 72056 – SAAB 35ÖE/35FS Draken (export variant to Finland and Austria) and Hobby 2000 – 72055 – SAAB J-35F Draken.

In our opinion the coming ICM kit for the same topic is bit better, ICM – 72140 – THE GHOST OF KYIV MIG-29 of Ukrainian Air Force, and once the IBG Models kit is available (Using Trumpeter parts) that will be the best option.

Also a well number of Eduard catalogue entries has been update to “Out of Production” (discontinued) status as per current Eduard official catalogue.

As commented couple of days ago, expected for next month, IBG will be releasing another MiG-29 in Ukrainian markings, IBG – 72901 – Mig-29 in Ukrainian Air Force, using Trumpeter kit. Again sales will be partially donated to aid Ukraine.

AZUR/FRROM will release in mid June two new kits, based in new tooled moulds, for the French Blériot-SPAD S.510, the last biplane entered service in the French Air forces. FRROM – FR0050 – SPAD 510 At War and FRROM – FR0049 – SPAD 510 (7ème Escadre).

The next two Takom announces are devoted to the what-if world, with two releases of the SilberVogel, Takom – 5017 – SilberVogel Suborbital Bomber 2 in 1 and Takom – 5018 – SilberVogel Suborbital Bomber & Atomic Payload Suite, the last one goes beyond as also includes two German nuclear weapons never realized (thankfully). Note that past year AMP already developed a SilberVogel AMP – 72014 – Silbervogel Antipodal-Bomber, and the carts and nuclear weapons have been seen also by Kora as resin kits (largely hard to find kits).

PM Model from Turkey may be close to re-release their F-16 kit with new decals as PM Model – 302 – F-16C Fighting Falcon “Aggressor Vipers”.


Great news for today, one because another Ukrainian manufacturer backs from the hell with new releases, and two because there are new 1/72 scale plastic soldiers in the market after quite difficult times. Mars brings two new releases, focused in the late WWII, firstly the specialized German set Mars – 72128 – German Panzerjagers WWII and then some “British” troops, Mars – 72127 – British Commonwealth Troops WWII


Another big surprise, again by Mars, with a third release this month, Mars – 72129 – Soviet Border Guards WWII.


The coming Takom – 5016 – 28cm SK C/34 Guns Battleship Scharnhorst Turret B is already available to pre-order by some of our partners.

Sci-Fi and Anime


Has been long since our last update in this section, today we revisited Max Factory to add two new entries in the Fang of the Sun Dougram series, Max Factory – Combat Armors: MAX 26 – Fang of the Sun Set (already released) and Max Factory – Combat Armors: MAX 27 – Dougram Ver. GT expected for the end of the year. Aso we added the box image for Max Factory – Combat Armors: MAX 27 – Dougram Ver. GT. But the big surprise has been the news about a new Macross kit, Max Factory – 01291 – VF-1A/S Fighter Valkyrie (Hikaru Ichijyo’s Fighter), a non transformable Fighter Valkyrie to celebrate the 40 anniversary of the franchise. Max Factory already produced this kit in 1/20 scale, but it’s a great news that they downscaled to 1/72. They also have a weapons pack and a Gerwalk Valkyrie in 1/20, and as far as we know, there are plans to release both in 1/72 scale also. The only bad news is that is expected for November 2022.


Second season of Amaim Warrior at the Borderline (Kyoukai Senki) started past month and Bandai is already producing models seen in the new season. Together with some previous release we added 3 new models in the series, Bandai – 63798 – AMAIM WARRIOR AT THE BORDERLINE WEAPON SET, Bandai – 63343 – JO HOUND and Bandai – 63028 – MAILeS JOGAN KAI, and there are more coming during next months.

Today we have started another quest from the past and glory times of our hobby, starting to recover the Matchbox aircraft range, something that for sure will take us months to achieve. To start with, 11 references have been added:

Some of the kits are almost 50 years old, and as best, they haven’t been produced since late 90s. Despite of this, most of them are still available in good numbers, as during 70s, 80s and 90s, they were produced in numbers that are difficult to imagine today. And despite the long time, for many of the topics they covered, the old Matchbox kits remain being one of the few references available.
